Formed in 2012 by Cave In vocalist/guitarist Stephen Brodsky and Converge drummer Ben Koller, Mutoid Man is known for their unique ability to meld hardcore and metal with math rock, prog rock, and a bit of psychedelia for good measure. Celebrated by Pitchfork, the band's debut, Bleeder, embraced "both numbskull hard rock and cerebral progressive metal, at a time when the two approaches have become almost mutually exclusive in heavy music."
